Thank You Ebay

I never thought that I could actually make money through Ebay. Because at first, I don’t have enough confident in selling items, though it is actually one of my ambitions to have my own business by means of selling. Before, I used to ignore this site, subconsciously because I don’t know what should I sell or how should I start it. But then at the latter part of 2010, as I was cleaning our room, I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of things that weren’t even opened or used. Hence, it made me realized that  Ebay must be the perfect way to rid on those things, and  even more I could make money out of it.

First, I updated my Ebay account because I’ve been a member since 2009, as I’ve said, I just don’t have the enthusiasm before that’s why I just abandoned my account for a while. Then, I registered to Paypal in order to have an easier and safer transaction with the buyers. After that, I took all the things out from my closet that are not anymore needed, some were clothes with tags that weren’t used, some were old shoes. Then I finally listed all of it on Ebay as my active items for sale.  FYI: Ebay is charging insertion fees, picture fees etc. in order for your items to be listed. Not only that, you just don’t post it and sell it, you must have description about your items so that the buyers would have an idea about the item they’re viewing and it also helps on attracting the buyers.

. Fortunately, when I started last year they have this promo wherein the insertion fee is free and you just need to pay when your item sells. I think that lasted for more than a month. So it was really a good start for me.

Ebay has helped me earn extra money, it may not be that big but I could say that it somehow helps on paying our monthly bills. And I always feel the satisfaction whenever my item sells and whenever I receive positive feedback from the buyers. It just makes me feel determined to sell more items may it be new or used.  Overall, it just not benefiting me financially but also it gave me confidence on making transactions through selling.

My Hero

“Encourage your children to have heroes who are inspiring, courageous and worth looking up to”.

I’ve read that line in one of the articles in The Costco Connection. As I was comprehending it, it easily reminded me of someone’s really important in my life. Someone who I consider as my Hero, my mom.

She is my hero because she has given me life. She gave me an unconditional love, a kind of love that is hard to find to anyone else. She taught me how to be who I am today. She taught me how to be strong and how to keep myself grounded. She taught me how to be grateful for what I have. She taught me how to be selfless.

Our family had been through a lot of rough times, but she never showed us that we are in that situation nevertheless. She’s smiling even if she’s torn inside. She have given us, her children, a comfortable life. She made a lot of self-sacrifices just to make us happy. She’s a mother who will be there for you when you’re feeling down and helpless. I love her for that.

Now that I have my own family, I know that nothing has ever changed. I can always feel that her love and support for us is always there, especially to my daughter that she loves so much. I want my daughter to grow up and look up at her because if it’s not for my Mom I would be nothing and I would be no one.

Mom, you are my hero and I love you forever.

Dear Oprah

One of my most favorite and unforgettable Oprah’s episodes was the time when she gives away 276 brand new Pontiac cars for all her audience members, in 2004 . At that time, I was still in the Philippines.Since then, because of my astonishment to Oprah, I immediately became a fan. I’ve been dreaming of one day I can also watch the Oprah Winfrey Show live and hoping to get some ‘freebies” from the show.

Moreover, I never thought that I’ll be residing in Chicago, ever.  Now that I’m just a few miles away from Harpo Studios, which is just located near downtown Chicago, I wonder how could I enter and watch her show. Oprah is one of the richest entertainers, I suppose that her success is not only because of her own scheme but also because of the wits of the whole production team. I hope that one of her researchers would read  this blog and bestow me a seat in the Oprah’s show(I wish) before the final season ends.

If that happens, I would be the happiest member of the audience.

Food dilemma

Since my daughter turned 1 year old, it’s always been hard for me to feed her. She’s taking chewable vitamins to improve her appetite, but it seems like it’s not enough.
But then I realized that I feel so disappointed it’s because I’m comparing my daughter’s body frame to some other baby’s weight. Last January 2011, we visited her nutritionist and she told me a good news about her weight, she told me that she gained some weight so it means that all the hard work in feeding her paid off (every lbs. matter). My toddler is still breastfed   every time before she sleeps or before taking a nap, so I consulted it to her as well, she said that breast milk is still the best. So that made me feel confident about her daily diet. So nothing to worry about her food, but I’m still accepting suggestions and recommendations to improve her daily diet.

What Excites You?

EXCITEMENT, this word gives positive energy to our lives. When you are looking forward on something and you know that it will make you happy, that excites you .I remember when I was still a child my family and relatives had made a lot of travels. We always  had  “summer getaways’, we normally go to the beach, which really made me feel excited. Sleepless nights was usually the effect of my excitement. Then when I was already on my sophomore year in high school., we started to have vacations outside the country. The first time is always exciting. I wonder if there’s already Facebook at that time I probably would have shout it out to everyone and would have posted the pictures from the vacation.

Boredom is the Antonym of Excitement. When we’re  bored we tend to do uncanny things it’s because our mind is looking for something to do or something to stimulate ourselves. Who wants a boring life? No one. All of us, wants positive anticipation because it gives color and happiness to our lives. If you are an optimistic person, positive energy is what you’ve always looking for. If you practice righteousness to others, positive things are on your way.

As a mother, excitement for me is waking up in the morning and spending time with my daughter. Sharing the laughter with her really makes my everyday life colorful. Dreaming on her future, excites me as well. We should celebrate life by making it exciting by doing the right things with passion and sharing good values to everyone. When we’re excited we’re happy too, why not share it to others? Because being happy is contagious.

Start of a New Career

This is my first ever Blogsite. Should I say that this is a new career or a new hobby? Anyway, either of the two this would still be an interesting activity for me.Being a full time mom to a 2-year old toddler is quite a job because you have to juggle yourself as being a playmate and also a mother. Most of the time, we only stay at home and watch tv the whole day especially on winter season. For 3 years (including my prenatal year), I almost had the same routine everyday. That's why whenever the temperature set  into 55 degrees to 60 degrees I always make a time of going out with my daughter may it be at the park or at the mall. Since her father works
almost everyday, I make sure that my daughter still gets the right time and attention.

I was actually influenced by one of my Facebook friends, she's also a full time mom and a blogger. I found blogging really inspiring because you can say anything under the sun and share a lot of things in cyber community.
I am looking forward to blog more and more on the next days. I hope that this would be a successful one.
