Thank You Ebay

I never thought that I could actually make money through Ebay. Because at first, I don’t have enough confident in selling items, though it is actually one of my ambitions to have my own business by means of selling. Before, I used to ignore this site, subconsciously because I don’t know what should I sell or how should I start it. But then at the latter part of 2010, as I was cleaning our room, I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of things that weren’t even opened or used. Hence, it made me realized that  Ebay must be the perfect way to rid on those things, and  even more I could make money out of it.

First, I updated my Ebay account because I’ve been a member since 2009, as I’ve said, I just don’t have the enthusiasm before that’s why I just abandoned my account for a while. Then, I registered to Paypal in order to have an easier and safer transaction with the buyers. After that, I took all the things out from my closet that are not anymore needed, some were clothes with tags that weren’t used, some were old shoes. Then I finally listed all of it on Ebay as my active items for sale.  FYI: Ebay is charging insertion fees, picture fees etc. in order for your items to be listed. Not only that, you just don’t post it and sell it, you must have description about your items so that the buyers would have an idea about the item they’re viewing and it also helps on attracting the buyers.

. Fortunately, when I started last year they have this promo wherein the insertion fee is free and you just need to pay when your item sells. I think that lasted for more than a month. So it was really a good start for me.

Ebay has helped me earn extra money, it may not be that big but I could say that it somehow helps on paying our monthly bills. And I always feel the satisfaction whenever my item sells and whenever I receive positive feedback from the buyers. It just makes me feel determined to sell more items may it be new or used.  Overall, it just not benefiting me financially but also it gave me confidence on making transactions through selling.

My Hero

“Encourage your children to have heroes who are inspiring, courageous and worth looking up to”.

I’ve read that line in one of the articles in The Costco Connection. As I was comprehending it, it easily reminded me of someone’s really important in my life. Someone who I consider as my Hero, my mom.

She is my hero because she has given me life. She gave me an unconditional love, a kind of love that is hard to find to anyone else. She taught me how to be who I am today. She taught me how to be strong and how to keep myself grounded. She taught me how to be grateful for what I have. She taught me how to be selfless.

Our family had been through a lot of rough times, but she never showed us that we are in that situation nevertheless. She’s smiling even if she’s torn inside. She have given us, her children, a comfortable life. She made a lot of self-sacrifices just to make us happy. She’s a mother who will be there for you when you’re feeling down and helpless. I love her for that.

Now that I have my own family, I know that nothing has ever changed. I can always feel that her love and support for us is always there, especially to my daughter that she loves so much. I want my daughter to grow up and look up at her because if it’s not for my Mom I would be nothing and I would be no one.

Mom, you are my hero and I love you forever.

Dear Oprah

One of my most favorite and unforgettable Oprah’s episodes was the time when she gives away 276 brand new Pontiac cars for all her audience members, in 2004 . At that time, I was still in the Philippines.Since then, because of my astonishment to Oprah, I immediately became a fan. I’ve been dreaming of one day I can also watch the Oprah Winfrey Show live and hoping to get some ‘freebies” from the show.

Moreover, I never thought that I’ll be residing in Chicago, ever.  Now that I’m just a few miles away from Harpo Studios, which is just located near downtown Chicago, I wonder how could I enter and watch her show. Oprah is one of the richest entertainers, I suppose that her success is not only because of her own scheme but also because of the wits of the whole production team. I hope that one of her researchers would read  this blog and bestow me a seat in the Oprah’s show(I wish) before the final season ends.

If that happens, I would be the happiest member of the audience.
